Our family photography sessions go beyond posed pictures. We strive to document the genuine love and connections within your family. Rather than stiff and formal portraits, we take a relaxed and natural approach. Whether it’s at your favorite beach or during a leisurely walk together, we believe that being outdoors allows for genuine moments of joy and fun, resulting in the best family photographs.
During the session, we provide light direction to capture informal shots that truly reflect your family’s unique dynamics. Location
At Somography, we specialise in outdoor photography and do not operate from a traditional studio. We believe that natural settings provide the perfect backdrop for capturing authentic and meaningful moments.
By embracing the beauty of nature, we can create stunning images that showcase the genuine connections and emotions within your family. The freedom and spontaneity of outdoor sessions allow for more relaxed and candid photographs, resulting in a collection of images that truly capture the essence of your family.
In Aberdeen, several local parks offer the option to reserve a specific area for your photography session, which may involve a booking fee starting at £60. It’s important to note that this fee is not included in our photography packages. However, we are more than happy to discuss and recommend alternative beautiful locations that are free of charge.
Multiple times a year, we host family sessions inside the Winter Gardens. Keeping everyone warm and cosy throughout the winter months. Keep a look out on our Facebook page for these special dates.
Booking
To secure your family photography session with us, we require a 40% booking fee. This fee confirms your reservation and ensures that we allocate the necessary time and resources for your photoshoot. The remaining 60% of the payment is due one week prior to the scheduled session.
On the day
Living in Scotland, we understand that the weather can be unpredictable, and there’s always a chance of rain. However, we believe that a little rain shouldn’t dampen your spirits or affect the quality of your photoshoot.
Before the session, we will be in touch to assess the weather conditions and discuss the best course of action. If it’s only a light drizzle or a passing shower, it can actually create a unique and beautiful atmosphere for your photos. We can embrace the elements and capture stunning images that reflect the natural beauty of Scotland.
In the event of heavy rain or adverse weather conditions that may impact the safety or enjoyment of the session, we will work together to find an alternative plan. This may involve rescheduling the session for another day or exploring indoor locations that still provide a lovely backdrop for your photographs.
